Berlusconi's naval accident in Saint-Tropez

Thursday, 13 August 2015. The 78-year old former PM Silvio Berlusconi is victim of an accident while on holiday with his daughter Marina and his grandchildren in south France.

Silvio Berlusconi was trying to get back from terra firma to his yacht, when he – as a captain courageous - banged his head on the canopy of a boat, suffering a slight cut on the forehead and consequent dizziness.

Banga-banga ouch!
The former Italian PM is officially on holiday – with his daughter Marina (her birthday was celebrated last Monday), her husband Maurizio Vanadia and her two sons, Gabriele and Silvio – even though in the meantime he is trying to flog his beautiful villa in Sardinia to some members of the Saudi royal family

Berlusconi expelled from Italy's Senate for good

Thursday, 28 November 2013. Voting 9 times “no” during an emotional meeting of Italy's Senate, Italian senators give way to Berlusconi's expulsion from the Italian Parliament, after tax fraud conviction.

Berlusconi is a «political prisoner» of the Red Brigades (hinting at leftists judges), according to his fans

The Senate of Italy was pretty crowded yesterday, even though one of the famously habitual absentee – Silvio Berlusconi – was absent.

Perhaps he meant to boycott the sitting, but since he is never present, no-one noticed that.

On the agenda nine votes, all related to the media tycoon turned into politician and his judicial woes. Mr Berlusconi somehow keeps on being the major issue of the country.

When 500m euro you have to pay, that's not exactly the best way to start the day

Tuesday, 17 September 2013. On the eve of a vote over Silvio Berlusconi's eviction from the Senate of Italy, the Supreme court confirms his family's company has to pay over 500m euro in damages to media rival CIR, owned by De Benedetti family.

Silvio Berlusconi: seeing it coming?

Italy Supreme Court's ruling hasn't been very favourable to Silvio Berlusconi recently, after upholding accusations of tax fraud in the beginning of August, yesterday the Corte Suprema di Cassazione (this is the official name of the court of last resort in Italy) ruled that Berlusconi family’s Fininvest holding company had wrongfully gained control of Mondadori publishing house by bribing a judge (Vittorio Metta is his name) back in 1991, thus they have to pay more than half a million euro to De Benedettis' CIR.

Berlusconi and his political heir (yes, another one...)

Tuesday, 13 August 2013. As Silvio Berlusconi's political future appears more and more doom and gloom, observers, friends and allies of the former prime minister point at his daughter Marina Berlusconi as new leader of the centre-right in Italy.

«I don't believe this will be the end of Berlusconi. The sentence [for tax fraud] will boost his approval» is the opinion of Northern League's founder (and disgraced former secretary) Umberto Bossi, a long-term friend (and sometimes foe) to Silvio Berlusconi, interviewed by Italian wire service ANSA.

Bossi will add that Berlusconi's daughter Marina could pick up the baton, adding to rumours that's been spreading since months.

Berlusconi and the constitutional court

Wed, 19 June, 2013. Silvio Berlusconi risks of being booted out of politics for good, as he loses appeal to the constitutional court in relation with Mediaset tax fraud trial.

The so-called Mediaset trial has been lingering on for more than 10 years (Wikipedia provides quite an extensive picture over Berlusconi's trials and allegations, click here to check this out).

Will Silvio end up in handcuffs?
the list of people involved is pretty long - a fair share of the Berlusconi family is in it, like Silvio's children Marina Berlusconi and Piersilvio Berlusconi – but it's the head of the family who has more to lose, since he could end up banned from holding public office, if things turn nasty.
